Taproom Server Position

The Taproom Server position at Island Orchard Cider is an hourly, year-round, part-time position. A typical shift is from late morning into early evening, 10am - 6pm.

Join our bartending team with a few serving shifts a week. Availability on weekends and some holidays is a must. Job duties include bartending, organizing and stocking displays, changing kegs, selling retail products, and general customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify identity and age requirements of customers

  • Uphold applicable alcohol laws and regulations

  • Serve alcoholic beverages

  • Process customer payments

  • Clean glasses and bar equipment

  • Make product suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences

  • Record credit card and cash sales

  • Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift

  • Build a rapport with customers to create a positive atmosphere

  • Manage drink orders to keep customers satisfied

  • Develop working knowledge of ciders used to recommend and inform customers

  • Stock and maintain products on shelves and displays

  • Provide impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness

  • Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and responsiveness 

  • Ability to enforce policies regarding the consumption of alcohol

  • Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments

  • Perform end of day check out report

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Complete and pass an online serving alcohol certification program

  • Must be 21+

  • Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for hours at a time

  • Ability to multitask and work well with others, including a strong background in customer service
